How about School yard sale fundraiser:

I bet all the parents have stuff they want to get rid off.

Have students bring in all yard-sale items during the preceeding week.
Store it, sort it, clean it, repair it.

Advertise the yard sale around the sorrounding areas by posting
big signes with direction arrows and date on every intersection.
Be creative with the signs and have those posted for at least
one week prior to the event.

Make a big banner sign and post it on school fences.

Students can tend the yard sale tables and help on that Saturday
and or Sunday.

You should be able to raise a worthwhile amount with no investment required.
